Discussion > Family treatment for families affected by addiction?
Dear Ms. Peterson,
I'm sorry for my delay in responding. Beyond the sections in my books about children and couples I'm not aware of other publications specifically using my approach. I would be happy to speak with you about this, however. I will write to your email separately.

I'm finding your books great resources for the treatment of individuals experiencing addiction. It's less clear to me how your approach might inform family treatment of families affected by addiction. The only book on this subject that I'm aware of is C. Bepko's "The Responsibility Trap: A Blueprint for Treating the Alcoholic Family" (1985), which is so dated and so wedded to the 12-step model for treating addictions as to be virtually unusable. Any suggestions for more recent and better-informed resources, whether books or articles, for a professional audience or a general audience?
